I don’t know how these things work, but why does this go to the state GOP instead of a court of law?

Under Mississippi law, he has to file his challenge first with the party Executive Committee. If (when) they turn him down, he can go to court.

So how long does the committee have before they have to rule? Can they stretch it out into November?
