Children, families fleeing Central America find refuge in the Bay Area

Alicia did not seek to leave Las Isletas, her little hamlet near El Salvador's coast. Not in the 1980s, when guerrillas battled the military and her brother and so many others fled to California. Not when earthquakes and hurricanes ravaged the region and her husband helped organize relief efforts.

Another teen, a family friend, who joined the group on their odyssey began receiving threats on his Facebook account just a week ago.

So this kid made the trek from Central America and was able to stay connected. Must have brought his laptop with him. Every kid in America has a computer and a Facebook account.

REALITY CHECK At last Tuesday's House Judiciary hearing on immigration, CONG LOUIE GOHMERT (REP-TX) had this eye-opening exchange with the Obama appointee rubber-stamping illegals into the US:

GOHMERT: WRT drug cartels paid $6000 each to "guide" the hordes over the border---"Would you, as a former prosecutor, call them criminals?" Gohmert nonchalantly asked Obama appointee, Leon Rodriguez--now heading a DHS agency.

The smirking Rodriguez stepped headlong into the trap as Cong Gohmert casually hoisted him on his own petard.....making the point that if the hordes were coming here to escape drug cartels, why is it they are consorting w/ the nasty criminals, and are paying the violent breed to accompany them over the border?

Definitely not the behavior of someone in mortal fear, "forced" to escape to the US for protection. More likely, the swarm is in collusion w/ the cartels. Better check those backpacks.
