I’m not sure about those roots, Kabar.

The other shoe has still yet to drop and that is when companies are forced to get Obamacare coverage or drop health insurance as a benefit and take the penalty. I suspect that many corporate bean counters are going to see the financial advantage to just paying the penalty, and then the fur will fly!

When that happens (not if), I think many a democrat will jump on the repeal bandwagon. Now, will the thing they try to jump to be single-payer? I think so. The GOP would be smart to challenge that with “jumping into the fire from the frying pan” approach, but only time will tell. The best argument for not going to single-payer is we have NO MONEY.

But as HL Mencken once said, “No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people”

One good argument against single payer is our very own VA system that’s in disgrace and turmoil.
