The biggest fallacy that some humans fall for, is that humans are interchangeable, and that sharing a label with others causes you to share their guilt.

Anyone who thinks that way is an a$$hole.

This kind of thinking leads to the kind of action shown in the article, where one individual is made to suffer for the actions of others in a group that he is said to belong to.

Don’t put me in any group. I’m not a member of a group. I’m not responsible for anything done by people in the group that you want to put me in.

All groups are artificial. “White” “Black” etc. I’m an individual, and am solely responsible for my actions, not for the actions of other individuals.

Unfortunately that ideal that you pine for simply does not jive with reality. Like it or not humans still have a strong tribal affinity. I agree that it might be better if it weren’t so, but we can’t deny reality. God knows we’ve tried everything in this country to counter that and in many ways we’ve made things worse.
