DENVER The attorney for Anthony Waller, the shackled inmate who was seen on surveillance cameras being slammed into a wall by a Denver Sheriffs deputy during a hearing before a judge in 2012, has filed a lawsuit over the incident.
The lawsuit in U.S. District Court names the city and county of Denver, Deputy Brad Lovingier, Capt. Gina McCall and the Denver Sheriffs Department.
A news release sent by attorney Kenneth Padilla on Wednesday says Waller was shackled in handcuffs, leg irons, and belly chain when Lovingier without provocation, grabbed Mr. Waller by his shackles, spun him around and violently slammed him into a large glass window and metal post. Waller collapsed onto the ground, sustaining serious injury.

Judge Doris Burd filed an internal affairs complaint with the Denver County Sheriff, but the Denver District Attorneys office declined to prosecute the deputy. Lovingier was suspended 30 days and according to his disciplinary case file, a witness called the deputys actions a little excessive.

Lovingier, a 12-year veteran of the department and the son of former Sheriff William Lovingier, appealed the suspension, but it was upheld by the Career Service Board.

Hey, what a nice thing to say!
Even after I called you an asshat?
Wow! Thank you, my FRiend!
Seriously, I am deeply and joyfully humbled to be lavished with such extraordinary praise!
Atlas Shrugged is now found in the History section. It is no longer fiction.
Oh, gee whiz...that's right! The Palestinians are just the poor victims and the perps deserve big settlements. Wake up, folks. You guys sound like bleeding heart Demos.
Of course! The perps are pinnacles of society, the cream of the crop, the good guys sent to push back on the "man" who just wants a license to kill. Bill Ayers is their poster child and George Soros is their sugar daddy. I think the crazies around here ought to volunteer to house perps inside their homes, alongside their families and save the poor misunderstood "victims" from those bad, bad cops. Hey, you girls/guys out there...any takers?
In a system with legal recourse perhaps not. As it stands I think there would be a lot of dry eyes, mine included, should corrupt authorities wind up on the end of a rope. But you go ahead and keep licking those jack boots, I'm sure nothing like this could ever happen to you.
All I get at that link is flashing, it is wreaking havoc with Disconnect or something.
Amen. I had to take in in 5 minute increments as well, for the same reason.
Sounds like an epidemic of misconduct within the Denver Sheriff department:

That was months ago. That sheriff is gone. This is a years long battle against a corrupt cop shop in a corrupt city.
