Don’t screw this up, GOP senators tell their House counterparts

Senate Republicans have a message for House Republicans: Don’t screw up before Election Day.

After fumbling primaries in the past, the GOP believes it will win a majority in the upper chamber this fall — as long as the party can avoid self-inflicted wounds.

To do that, Senate Republicans want their colleagues in the lower chamber to play ball and not hand Democrats anything that could turn out the opposition’s base or turn off independent voters. Senate Republicans have put subtle pressure on House members to avoid a messy fight over the border bill, impeachment or a government shutdown. Democrats have recently used the latter two gleefully for fundraising.

“I think the Democrats are looking for every opportunity to change the subject to something more advantageous for them,” Senate Republican Conference Chairman John Thune (S.D.) said. “We have to be smart about how we respond to things that they put forward.”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has warned that Republicans could try to provoke another government shutdown in the fall or impeach President Obama.

Veteran Senate Republicans say GOP colleagues on the other side of the Capitol should not take the bait, nor should firebrands in their own conference.

“They’re saying, ‘Let’s not make any stupid mistakes here.’ That’s the message that moves back and forth, generally. ‘Let’s not undermine our candidates out there,’” Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said.

Senate Republicans think House Republicans keep fueling the fire.

Rep. Ted Yoho (R-Fla.), for example, recently argued that the House should pass legislation to secure the southern border and move to impeach Obama if he failed to enforce it.

>But they won’t talk about Tommy Thompson, Rick Berg, Heather Wilson, Carly Fiorina, Denny Rehberg, Connie Mack, Pete Hoekstra and George Allen.<

Don't forget that knucklehead from Missouri, Akin, and the other from Indiana, Mourdock. Those states whiffed on their nomination processes.

If the Senate Republicans are so darn smart, why don’t they have a majority?

After 11 of them voted to go along with the president’s request for money for the border crisis? Are they crazy??? They are half of the problem. The other half is the do nothing Republican House.

It’s so sad that the electorate is only affected by the last ten minutes of a campaign. Both parties are scrambling to get a ‘current’ message out to win, never mind what the a#$%holes have done for the past six years.

They’ve already screwed up. The lawsuit should have been taken up AFTER the election.

They have given the Dems and Obama an issue to beat them over the head and rally their base.

And what if a court approves a Summary Judgment against the lawsuit before the election. They are left with egg on their faces, even if they appeal.

They have plenty of less controversial issues.

Don’t you understand, you are a purist! You are supposed to support the Party regardless of their position on any issue, no matter how stupid, cowardly or corrupt it may seem to you. The Party Boys promise, no really they promise to fix things if you just let the control the $$$ for a while, really.

Aside from a couple of senators the entire Republican delegation in the senate are nothing more than statist pukes. They are so arrogant and yet so blindingly stupid and corrupt. The House leadership is their counterpart butt buddies. If they can screw up anything the GOPE will do it. I have never seen a conservative yet they didn’t hate, with Lois Lerner being their only equal in that regard.
