There have been some cases of girls getting pregnant somehow on Navy ship deployments. I think the same could happen on a submarine. There’s something about people being in close quarters which pulls the trigger on it.

There have been some cases of girls getting pregnant somehow on Navy ship deployments.

Try 30-40% of women on surface ships get pregnant and must be transferred off or miss deployments. This leaves ships undermanned...the men then have to step in and carry the extra load.

On Submarines, this will be disastrous. It's hard enough to fully man a boat as it is now. After awhile, retention of men well drop like a stone. The Submarine force will be far worse off.

IIRC it's not rare . Easy way out if they don't like their duty.
Not necessarily getting pregnant on the ship, maybe shore leave.
Subs are tight quarters, narrow passages. Three months underwater at a time. Gonna be interesting how this experiment turns out.
