After dating quite a few girly men and borderline serial killers (ha ha), I found the perfect mix at 26. Moral of my story: Don't settle, stick to your values, and don't think you can “change someone”. Also don't think everything will be smooth going, but work through it.

I went for those good-looking “bad boys” for way too many years. A few of them ended up dead or in jail at an early age.
After 30, I wised up...or maybe I settled down. ;-) I’m glad that the last “good guy” that did court me was persistent. We’ve been together nearly 20 years and we’ll be together forever. (...and he showed me Free Republic!)
I have a female co-worker who asks me about men all the time and tells me her dating antics. She was married to and has 3 kids by a drug addled, lazy half-wit whom she finally divorced. He proceeds to physically attack her every time she lets him see the kids. To which I say, you say he is on probation, call the cops and have him arrested on domestic and blow his probation, she doesn’t she is just trying to be nice she says for the kids, never mind they are witnessing this each time...
She recently stopped dating another guy of the year candidate looking at 4 months in jail for his 5th DUI and now she learns he might have been gay or bi-sexual. Both of these clods expected her to work and pay for everything.
Now according to her she has a handsome, hard working guy with a good paying job, who has liked her since high school, hasn’t been in jail ever, not on drugs and paid for everything on the only date they went on and treated her like a lady and he behaved as a gentleman. She is reluctant to date him it might mess up their friendship she says. Good Lord what do you want a hells angel who beats the crap out of you daily and expects you to work 4 jobs to date I finally asked her.
