I think the Chicago Mob views SlowJoe as a useful idiot.
Much more likely they line up with somebody like Lizzie Warren.
(1) Joe ain't all that slow. Remember he's the guy who "discovered" Barack Hussein Obama early.
(2) He is very useful. You'll never meet a more partisan, committed Democrat than Joe. If they need a kamikaze, he's their man. No questions asked.
(3) He ain't no idiot. He's been around a very long long time, has amassed an astounding family fortune and knows where a lot of very smelly bodies are buried.
(4) I am repeating that Joe is a dynamite campaigner, truly belovèd of the Great Unwashed. He's got, if not exactly charisma, a great common touch and is a real personality. You think hoi polloi cares that he has been dead wrong on foreign policy since the 1960's? Yeah, WE think he's an idiot. That helps him wiith HIS base.
(5) He can be trouble. Don't underestimate him as an enemy.
(6) What do we have going for us? A non-Democrat Coalition with no stated PROGRAM. No explicit PLAN. And NO LEADER at the moment.
(7) If the Democrats have a collapsed economy to deal with and need a bit of a not-quite-the-patsy for 2016, think Joey Plugs. He'll step up to either hit a homer or strike out.
