Aww Jeez we prolly should have never tried to tame Afghanistan.
She has never been conquers in all of history.
It is a land of warlords and theifdoms.

There was an outside chance we could have made it work as a loose federation.
A remote outside chance

Best that we just dislodge the Taliban and get the hell out of there.
Iraq on the other hand was truly an opportunity to divide the middle east with western ideals and freedom from the Bosporus straits of Turkey to the Persian gulf.

Mesopotamia has a long history of civilization.

Obama threw all our soldiers blood away.

Last year I read this book about Josiah Harlan in Afghanistan. I totally agree with your comments.

I get your point about Iraq, but I’m not sure that we can hope for civilization in that part of the world any time soon.

It is my conclusion that what is wrong with the Middle East is simply that it’s full of crazy people.

And I should know—most of my ancestors come from there.
