I still remember Johnny wearing that “Kill a Commie for Mommy” t-shirt!

I never liked the Ramones, and the bands the author uses to make his point about liberals are some of my favorites. But I'll still bet that he's probably right.

Oh man, this is great. Songs kept popping up in my head as I read. And the irony just drips off the screen.

Thanks Kaslin. To those, in the 60s, that witnessed the rebellion against ‘everything’ it is refreshing to see it come around 180. The left’s desires always come out, in the end, to death and destruction...

I like this angle. OTOH, imagine how cool it would be if constitutional conservatism were the establishment position.

The article is a fun analogy, not sure if it is a good analogy, I enjoy Foghat’s “Slow Ride”, “I just want to make love to you”<—— Their cover does rock. Though some of the others like “Fool for the city” aren’t something I will actively seek out, it’s okay on the radio.

The author is only half right. Liberalism
is nothing but a 70's greatest hits album, but Conservatism - even the Tea Party brand - is a Burl Ives Christmas Special from 1975.
Young people don't like Democrats much, but Democrats still look better to them than the alternative we are presenting...because our leaders don't believe in individual freedom any more than liberal leaders do.

Punk was originally a rebellion against the Hippies, who after Woodstock became the mainstream.
