Is Putin Worse Than Stalin?
Drudge Report ^ | 7-25-14 | Pat Buchanan

Posted on 07/25/2014 8:22:48 PM PDT by duckln

In Ukraine, Putin responded to a U.S.-backed coup, which ousted a democratically elected political ally of Russia, with a bloodless seizure of the pro-Russian Crimea where Moscow has berthed its Black Sea fleet since the 18th century. This is routine Big Power geopolitics.

Well that WAS their intentions, but it wasn't the Ukrainian ‘citizens’ who ultimately took control of the Revolutions reins....as we all now fully now....and and why the New Government is folding in on itself.

What Russkie apologists "know" and what is actually known are mutually exclusive things.

As for Yancovich...Putin didn't like him either...but he works with what's there to work with.....so he tolerated the creep

Yanukovych isn't even as creepy as Putin. Sure, he looted the country, but so does Putin, and the latter has killed much more people.

You Putinistas make me sick because you are absolutely ignorant of all the crimes Putin has committed in his own country, and you reveal your own ignorance with these silly "Well, Putin doesn't like this creep!" as if you even know what the heck you're talking about.

...neither of which knew how to conduct foreign affairs.

Admiring Putin's "conduct" is like admiring the street gang leader who succeeds because of an incompetent and drunk sheriff.

Yes I do. It's bull shit, typical of your postings.

You're free to name one thing that is "BS" about my postings. It is not possible. Putinistas do not know anything. They are congenital know-nothings.

If what you say were true, Putin would not have an 80%+ approval rating.

When did I ever say that your average Russkie, under the spell of a government that has total control over its media and opposition, didn't like their tyrant?

This is no logic at all.

What you should be arguing is: "The elections in Russia are not totally corrupt." "The media isn't under state control." "People aren't arrested and sentenced to hard labor in today's Russia for having wrong political beliefs." "No, people are not beaten and murdered by the state." "No, Russia isn't supporting Iran's nuclear program, and communist and extremist groups and countries around the world."

Whether there is a slave class in Russia or not (assuming the polls are real) wouldn't change anything like that.

.....”This is sad defense for a fraudulent and corrupt election”......

Nothing sad about it...Crimea got what they wanted after years of trying. (Remember this without a gun fired) And the celebrations rose for finally being back where they wanted to be...”Home” to them....and Putin got paid off for what we will soon be seeing in E. Ukraine.....after all he isn't going to stop that fighting until he is paid...and it won't be just Crimea....it'll be South-Stream pipeline and any other deal that's struck for him to use his forces to calm the waters.

As for fraudulent voting.....that's not even worth a response considering how our own elections go.

Why don't you contact a "journalist" from one of your anti-semitic sources and have them investigate my birth certificate.

This is barely even rational. So on the one side, you want us to believe that the Crimean voting was legitimate and reflected the real will of the majority of people, even Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians. But on the other hand, you want us to agree that they are entirely fraudulent, but that it's okay because you think American politics are just as corrupt and fraudulent too.

Your fears and hatred of the former USSR drool over your posts.......and why you cannot understand the Geo-political and dynamics of the International game-board as it is ‘today’, let alone who the players are and their interactions among themselves, who do see Russia and Putin as they are today.

That's the same thing you told me when you explained your conspiracy theory that Western media is entirely under the control of unknown forces, and that is why it is necessary for you to post videos from a Iranian/Islamist YouTube channel that posts hate stories about Israel and claims the United States is still persecuting blacks. (And I'm going to remind you about this forever.)

My response then and now is: You are an idiot.

Well as usual you screwed that up ...it isn't a question of “sides”,.... and until you can get past that, (which is highly questionable if possible), then everything you see will be ONLY through the “old” system of how things were handled in that ‘former’ era......we aren't there anymore....it's 2014 and the entire World Stage of Geo-Politics and the leadership of nations has changed, as well as how they operate.....

...Further PEOPLE on today's stage are a commodity and maneuvered accordingly.....some will live through it and some will die as nations garner resources, revenues, and trading blocks under their control....and this will invariably mean conflicts and wars to accomplish their objectives.

...”That's the same thing you told me”.....

Of course it's going to be the same thing,... and will continue to be so until your light bulb blinks and you have finally arrived at the “I got it” moment. You're not there yet.

It is true I have respected your opinions on FR....and stated so....but regarding these events you are ‘stuck’ in the past regarding what Russia and Putin are about today, and therfore cannot understand the dynamics of this conflict in Ukraine as it is, rather than what you want it to be.

..Furthermore... when you resort to preceding your comments with name-calling and foolish remarks it's pretty hard to maintain that respect when you post as so.....what you have to say otherwise, which might ordinarily be insightful, pretty much gets “lost in translation”. Any effort I've made to call a truce or put aside our differences of Ukraine has been met with further bombardment of insults and outright flaming....my level of tolerance only goes so far...and rightfully so. When your posts are filled with such vile stuff there's nothing left to respond to....as it's meaningless then.

Great posts. You've really shed some sunlight on the Ukraine situation.

There's always more to the story when Obama's Palace Guard media and looting Western oligarchs are involved, as you've shown.

Heck, even the some of the British papers are parroting the Thievington, DC, line. The Daily Mail had Max Hastings bashing Putin the other day.

British papers etc. are parroting Alibama because of course the US and EU/Nato have the same aspirations for Ukraine.....They're parroting the the DC line...(Blame Russia) because they are an echo chamber and so is any other nation who has their hands in Uncle Sam's pocket....The leveraging and outright blackmail he's been pulling on countries bordering Russia would astound most, (McCain/Biden his front man, mostly McCain because he can generally move about undetected until after the fact).

To sweeten the pie, for 'prominent' nations he wants support from but could swerve with Russia, he holds out carrots of something they want, (IE: Poland's getting the US Military Base they've been asking for for years).

Because Putin can play a better hand with his propaganda machine Obam had to get media 'reinforcements' from Europe because there was no certainty the MSM would 'go full tilt' for him, (some had already begun to dice him over battering this nation and overreaching).... Remember Obama is a "Community organizer"...which is how he brought the media heads together to carry his propaganda....the pay off is going to cost us plenty!

It's a mistake for people not to consider viewing Russia and other nations media's outside the MSM here. ....most importantly the guests they have on their shows regarding International Affairs and Foreign Policy...who are more times then not leading strategists, historians, authors and former Dignitaries etc.... 'from our country'.... who do not get time on MSM because they're prohibited to speak for not carrying Ob's directions.

... An example would be the ever criticized RT....which we 'know' is biased toward Putin, as if it shouldn't be to their President...., anybody that goes there is wise to that bias..... But their episodes on crosstalk and with other nation leaders are interesting because you here all sides, from different perspectives... and national columnists, who have more freedom to speak openly of Ukraine AND THE US then they can here....and have stated so... That's why they go there to be heard.

France, and all Europe...and yes even Aljazzera have guests and speakers....by viewing these you get an overview of how nations are seeing events from their perspective. The truth, and actual events themselves, then can be seen somewhere in the middle as the dots become wider and more obvious. It's just wise to get the whole picture of events with the World gone global and decisions being made on a global scale.

Putin is a seasoned statesman and major player in the eyes of world leaders, makes no difference what we think of him or his nations people...he's most defiantly in the game and will not be going away regardless of how things are projected by the media here....and Nation Leaders will attest to this regardless of what they pitch or not....they know it..and so should we..

Some of us are spectators, others seek the truth, still others just take sides and root for who they want to win....but these are 'very high stakes' NOW being played worldwide, on a scale as never before, which will impact the entire fabric of the worlds people...........unfortunately we have a President who can't see the cards, doesn't know how the game is played so plays with no rules , and resorts to verbiage which now has little meaning let alone significance to World Leaders overall. Furthering embarrassing us as he resorts further to thuggery tactics of a Chicago Punk who knows he's more than underqualified on the world stage yet determined to have his way regardless of who or what he takes down in the process.

Putin's just doing what Putin has always done...played his hand when he sees it most advantageous to his country and himself politically, as his only care is if or not HIS COUNTRIES PEOPLE are supporting him......he couldn't care what the rest of us think...he's all about Russia...and always was. His people know this now and anything we do, or Europe does against him, will simply solidify the people of Russia tighter to him...fact in point Crimea went home to Russia.

Putin’s a pig. A competent president wouldn’t have lost the Ukraine that he’s now trying to recover. He’s a loser. Look at the Russian economy.

And he has promoted anti-baby killing laws in a country where getting an abortion has been historically easier than buying a loaf of bread.

The real danger is that Putin might start a nuclear exchange by accident. I have to assume that there are other people who have taken steps to make sure that these things won't happen by accident. Of course, I would have thought that there were people around him to make sure he didn't accidentally cause the death of hundreds of innocent airline passengers, but apparently there was no one there to protect him and the rest of us from his incompetence in that regard.

So, who knows? His clumsiness may kill us all.
