Rep. Ed Royce, California Republican and chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said the United States should try to have productive relations with a Vladimir Putin-led Russia with qualifications.
At the same time, we should be pointing out that Putin is using social media right now to recruit every skinhead and malcontent around Russia and get them into eastern Ukraine, Mr. Royce told MSNBCs Morning Joe. We know these separatists were taken into Russia to be trained in how to use these SA-11s and theyre poorly trained, so they now shot down a jetliner. ....
We should have a long-term strategy and wed have to change the presidents position on this, but one where we sell [natural gas] for the future into the market in Ukraine in order to replace the Russian gas, he said.

Congressman Wants Arizona Immigration Law to Go National - "The government of Mexico is losing control of this area, it's being handed over to basically the cartels, and so we have to respond" Royce explained. "And we need to give the border patrol the tools they need to do it."
“You’re wrong. I am strongly concerned about illegal immigration and defending our border.”
That must be why I’ve never run across you on any of the border threads over the years. It’s due to your overwhelming concern in the issue.
Ed has “strong concern” like yours. Empty words when nothing is at stake. He could have wielded influence when Dubya was ignoring the law for eight years and trying to push amnesty instead. GOP pushback was needed to make Bush enforce the law. Why didn’t he speak up?
Or more recently when Boehner made known his willingness to cooperate with Obama on “immigration reform”, aka amnesty- think you can find a juicy quote where Royce takes Boehner to task for that? Good luck junior.
I know my own concern with Ed Royce. He’s my Congressman and considering the massive presence of illegal aliens in California he should be demanding that American immigration law be enforced. And that’s deportation, the word no one can find Ed mentioning. Not even a fanboy like you. Why is that?
And BTW, just who is your own Congressman? You’ve avoided answering several times. Are you hiding that for some reason?
“WATCH: Conressman Ed Royce Wants Arizona-Style Immigration Law in All 50 States”
This video is from 2011
Arizona SB1070 was based on California’s Prop 187. Prop 187 occurred back in 1994. Ed and the rest of the do nothing GOPe had the eight years when Bush was president to push for a national Prop 187. You know, especially right after 9-11 when the threat posed by illegals was blatantly obvious to the entire country and strong border security could have passed.
Calling for a national SB1070 in 2011 safely assures that it hasn’t a snowball’s chance since Obama will never sign it. But it does provide a lot of good empty words that give the appearance of actually doing something. No wonder it impresses you.
You mean Ukrainian rebels, don't you?
This month alone, I started 58 illegal immigration threads indexed to the keyword “aliens.” I just counted. While I was reviewing the aliens keyword list, I didn’t notice that you posted even a single aliens thread in the last month.
Ed Royce has an A rating from the NRA. He’s pro-life and pro-family. He is a member of the tea party caucus. He is for ending birthright citizenship for anchor babies. He is for English as the official national language. He is not just a good congressman, he’s one of the best we have. Your problem is with Obama, with Boehner, with Bush, but not with Ed Royce.
The entire purpose of the law Ed proposed is to catch illegal aliens so they will be deported. When the abc reporter in the second video I posted asked him if his proposed law was worth it even if many were caught who hadn’t done anything serious, Ed pointed out that they broke the law just by being here illegally. Maybe you didn’t bother watching it. In the article I posted titled “Keeping criminal aliens off our streets,” Ed opines that “Immigrant criminals should be detained and deported.” I guess you didn’t bother to read it. That’s okay. I’m sure you will now say that’s still not enough for you, and that’s okay too, obviously nothing will ever be enough for you. I know I probably cannot convince you of anything. That’s been obvious from the start. I just hope that everyone reading this thread sees how completely wrong and unreasonable you are and how pointless is your intention to throw a good tea party Republican under the bus just because you don’t like the GOP establishment. All you will achieve by not voting for good Republicans like Ed Royce is to put open borders Democrats in office. Maybe that’s what you want, since you seem to like complaining more than doing anything constructive.
Let’s see even one quote where Royce criticizes Bush or Boehner for their refusal to deport illegals and their promotion of amnesty. The problem isn’t just Bush and Boehner. It’s GOP enablers who elect them to positions of power and never hold them accountable.
It’s GOP elected officials who put party loyalty and ethnic pandering ahead of American law. Bush did exactly that during his Presidency and precious few Republicans demanded that he knock it off. And somebody elected the fool Boehner to the Speaker’s chair, he didn’t squat in it on his own.
You can cite all the rankings you want. Apparently report cards make a big impression on you. I suggest that when someone like a Jeff Sessions actually does his job no one needs a report card to see it.
” When the abc reporter in the second video I posted asked him if his proposed law was worth it even if many were caught who hadnt done anything serious, Ed pointed out that they broke the law just by being here illegally. Maybe you didnt bother watching it.”
I watched the video. I’m just not as impressed as you are when Royce says something that the average Californian figured out and voted for a full 17 years earlier when Prop 187 won at the polls in 1994.
Apparently you marvel over his ability to have figured out that “illegal” actually means something. Some of us have been asking our reps for a very long time what part of “illegal” they fail to understand. They understand it. They just have zero intention of doing anything about it.
You’re a fanboy. I get it. You’ll continue to be impressed by rhetoric. It’s one reason that the GOPe finds it easy to remain in power despite never delivering to anyone but amnesty pushers like the Chamber of Commerce.
They’ll make statements as if they are really interested in representing their voters, but somehow when they are in control of the presidency and Congress their long sought ‘goals’ don’t advance at all. There must be some mysterious force preventing it. Go figure.
For somebody so concerned with illegal immigration, you are incredibly determined not to bother finding out your representative’s position on it and to diregard that position completely when it is pointed out to you. Maybe it doesn’t occur to you that what gets a Republican elected in California is not the same as what gets one elected in Alabama. I guess you’d rather be represented by a Democrat.
Well — the rebels sent into Ukraine by Russia.
You mean rebels sent from Russia to join the Ukrainian rebels?
No — the rebels in Ukraine are Russians.
Take away the Russians and there are no rebels.
