Destroying the tunnels is an inconvenience, not a disaster for the Moslems. They are relatively easy to create. The rock is soft like the rock in which the Cu Chi tunnels, a vast system of underground passageways and rooms were cut. Anatolia has a number of extensive underground cities that were cut through that soft rock and it was done fairly quickly.
Well the gophers are going to have to dig them all over again.
I’ll bet they lost a lot of their experienced diggers as well as gopher bosses too.
