Williams Guevara-Martinez was almost 17 when he left his home near San Salvador, El Salvador, and headed north with three other youth and a 30-something guide known as a coyote.
Guevaras older brother Adam, had paid the coyote thousands of dollars for the 2,000-mile trip, which took 12 days. Guevara traveled by foot and car, finally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in the back of a truck.
Fifteen minutes later, immigration officials discovered his illegal entry and sent him to a Texas shelter. He was there 24 days before flying from Houston to Baltimore, where he was reunited with two brothers, a sister and nephew on Sept. 27, 2012. Like Guevara, these siblings left El Salvador to escape an abusive father and lack of opportunity, Guevara said. Since their exodus, violence in their country has spiked, compelling more youth to head north.
Guevara is among tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors who have entered the U.S. illegally in recent years, and whose numbers are on the rise.
More than 57,500 youth and children from Central America and Mexico are estimated to have crossed the border without guardians since Oct. 1, 2013, a significant increase from the 38,700 who crossed the year before. They undertake the dangerous journey to escape violence and p overty, some seeking to be reunited with family already in the United States.
The Esperanza Center in Fells Point has witnessed the rise of unaccompanied minors first-hand, working with more and more adults trying to connect with sons, daughters, siblings or cousins who have crossed the border, but are now detained in facilities for immigrants who have entered the U.S. illegally. Most are from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

How much are you paid per post, or is it based on blog hits?
This is a heartbreaking story. IOW, the illegal was reunited with several other illegals in Baltimore and nobody was sent home. Heartbreaking ... and now the Citizens are tasked with educating, finding employment for, giving citizenship to another lawbreaker .... Heartbreaking.
CATHOLIC ONE WORLD ORDER ALERT
Baltimore ,more dangerous than back home
Would be interesting to know if kid paid coyote in U.S. dollars. I suspect these were U.S. dollars paid the coyote based upon wire transfers out of U.S.

So where exactly does a poor boy from El Salvador get his hands on “thousands of dollars”? Doesn’t pass the smell test.
The company I work for supports this pathetic organization. They don’t get one moment of my time.
