Though set to retire from the U.S. House after her term expires at the end of this year, Michele Bachmann may not be done with electoral politics.
The Minnesota congresswoman and 2012 Republican presidential candidate told RealClearPolitics on Tuesday that she is considering a second White House run.
Bachmann made the revelation during an interview, in which she was asked for her view on whether any Republican women might seek the Oval Office in 2016.
The only thing that the media has speculated on is that its going to be various men that are running, she replied. They havent speculated, for instance, that Im going to run. What if I decide to run? And theres a chance I could run.
Bachmann entered the last presidential race in June 2011 as a long-shot contender but was able to use her sway with elements of the Tea Party and an effective media campaign to rise temporarily toward the front of the Republican pack in a deeply fluid race.
The high point of her candidacy came in August 2011 when she won the Ames Straw Poll in Iowa.
But Bachmanns campaign soon withered amid a string of gaffes and controversial claims, staff defections, and a rise in the fortunes of other candidates in the race.
She ended up finishing in sixth place in the Iowa caucuses less than five months after her Ames triumph, earning just 5 percent of the vote and dropping out the next day.

I’d vote for Pat before I’d vote for Michelle, and he’s been dead nearly 20 years.
For starters, she has no chance of winning against any plausible Dem nominee (unless you think Joe Biden is plausible).
well give me a hard question...
Ted Cruz
Mark Levin
Rush Limbaugh
Oliver North
Sarah Palin
... for starters

Reagan and Nixon were immensely successful politicians of true national stature and party leaders.
Michelle is a bit of a flake who was only a congresswoman and couldn’t use that to attain any position as a leader.
How can you demean those two as mere “retreads” and compare them to Bachmann?
My sentiments here too. I think too many Tea Partiers are starting to accept and even believe all the negative propaganda produced daily by the Lib-Media, like Jon Stewart.
I don’t see what’s so bad about Michelle B. Someone could always bring up something specific that I was unaware of.
RE: She has no policies of any consequence because she cant formulate them.
Michele Bachmann ON THE ISSUES:
http://www.ontheissues.org/house/michele_bachmann.htm
She looks solid on most of them, even on immigration.
Levin won’t run and neither will Limbaugh or North. Palin? A very big ‘’maybe’’.
RE: Michelle is a bit of a flake who was only a congresswoman and couldnt use that to attain any position as a leader.
She couldn’t attain a position as a leader PRECISELY because the positions she stands for are AGAINST most of the current GOP leadership.
But on the issues, SHE IS SOLID. Even more solid than Richard Nixon himself.
And on immigration, I say she is more right than Reagan was.
RE: No Romney
No Bachmann
No Huckabee
No Ron Paul
No Newt
________________
How about Paul Ryan?
They day that she announces you’ll see Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert, and Bill Maher doing the happy dance.
Seriously I would like to see her on the ticket as VP.
Bachmann couldn’t grab any power in congress because she is flaky and weak, that is why she hired Rollins and went after Palin, she was basically a patsy for Romney.
The best thing that worked for Bachmann is being able to sound good on stage, and resembling Governor Palin at the right time.
Bachmann is not anywhere close to being presidential material, or even Governor material, and you are wrong to keep comparing President Nixon and President Reagan to her, and calling them retreads.
give it up
That was her sole value, holding on to a congressional seat and voting, her presidential aspirations are a symptom of her bizarre ego and confused judgement and thinking.
I have no problem with Michelle Bachmann at all. A solid conservative. Far better than Romchristibush. Perhaps better than Rand Paul. And would completely neutralize the ‘first woman president’ label that is Hillary!’s only selling point.
But she doesn’t stand a chance. She’s been out of the game too long.
How many of her bills passed the house, and how many were signed into law?
The last thing the GOP needs is a side show whereby the media can twist words to cast republicans as boobs.
She needs to reconsider.
Bad idea. We need one and ONLY ONE conservative.
Anything else splits the primary vote and we end up with a Romney.
