The American Rifleman had an article about a year ago about all of the various manufacturers' offerings of AR 15 look alike (and in some cases function alike) guns. Wish I had kept the article.
I believe in at least one or two cases the lower was interchangeable with a standard AR 15.
If you were looking for an AR 15 for a kid to shoot, get one with a collapsible stock, or put one on the gun you already own. They can be shortened up nicely.

Just buy a .22 upper, it will fit a .223 lower just fine.

Y’all are missing my point: literally scaling an AR15 down to 44.5%, not just adapting a rifle twice as big as appropriate for .22LR.
