The parents who want safety can have their son try ballet or swimming, but the most competitive boys/men will always be drawn to the most competitive sports. I guess that's hard for the wet-noodle crowd to understand.
That's just the way it is. To make football ‘safe’ is to make the game something other than football.
If you wait long enough they will insist the players wear the pads and helmets 24/7.
