This whole thing is PETA driven. They don’t believe in exotic pets or any pets for that matter.
If you don’t like snakes don’t get one. If you don’t like guns don’t have one.
But don’t control other people’s choices.
So you’re okay with African Pythons displacing all other species in the Everglades and encroaching on developed areas?

We all believe in the right to bear arms around here.
But do you have a right to keep a Tiger Tank in your garage or a nuclear warhead in your basement?
An anaconda is an apex predator which could easily escape an enclosure and threaten just about anything it comes into contact with.
No one should keep such animals as pets.
Uh...these people aren’t controlling their apex predators. I care if people let these things into the public sphere.
I read that warm water snakes, like pythons etc, can survive winters tucked away in caves at The Lake of the Ozarks. Enough to make me shiver.
A black Mamba was found in 101 near Palo Alto in the 80’s or 90’s. It apparently escaped from the idiot who kept it.
BTW I had a cure for dangerous snakes and the nut cases who import them. It involves a escape proof container large enough to hold a man. Let them that keep these snakes feed them. Hee Hee!!!

It amazes me that the self-same conservatives who howl like scalded cats when anybody merely mentions “gun ban” sit cheerfully by when “animal bans” are discussed.
They only defend the freedoms *they* like or want.

The one currently being decided in WV is the mother of all draconian pet pogroms.
Not just the usual ‘lions, tigers and bears’ are on the list.
It’s also hamsters, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, etc.

Yes, it is PETA driven. The Gaboon viper shed found in the carolina’s turns out to have been sold on line by a breeder. The person that bought it was associated with HSUS and planted the shed to justify the pet ban bill being discussed there now.
It’s like the “hunter” that saw an african lion here in WV. No sign or trace of the animal has been seen EVER except this one guy that claimed to be hunting.
I have a collection of snakes that range from garter snakes to retics. I also have dogs. Dogs are far more dangerous than ANY pet snakes. The fatality rate in the US by pet reptiles is less than one half of one person per year. Compare that to dozens upon dozens of deaths by dogs per year.
Sorry, but I can't see that these things are equivalent. Guns don't have a mind of their own, with the ability to slip out of the house and find their own prey. Just sayin...
