“Were we to be told by Washington when to sow and when to reap, we should soon want for bread” - - - T. Jefferson.

I just returned from Publix market in Miami where very large, nicely ripened Bing cherries were available for the third week in a row for $1.99 per pound. These are twice the size of those available some years ago, and the price in constant value dollars is less.

Keep Washington out of the food industry - Jefferson was right.

If we let government manage the cherry industry, I may soon want for cherries!

The govt already controls the cherry industry. The govt decides the price and how much of what they grow can be sold.

Which is why much of the annual cherry production ends up in the garbage.
