I used to like his work, but after hearing him off script could not watch him. He was a very stupid man. Rest in peace.

Half of me is chuckling with you in total agreement at least on the phenomenon of favorite stars one puts on pedestals, and then when mud gets on their feet one feels inclined to chuck out the whole sculpture forevermore -- !! You don't even want to know the ugly on some of conservatives' favorite stars. Ignorance is bliss. The ONE star who has stood up amazingly for me is Powers Booth. THAT is a righteous man, a very rightly moral guy.

But speaking of Garner and other favorites who are liberals (Harrison Ford, Paul Newman) --

I used to like his work, but after hearing him off script could not watch him. He was a very stupid man. Rest in peace.

Yes, he was stupid in some ways, but aren't we all? He was courageous and did "good" with his life, even to being married to the same sweetheart for 58 years. What more should one ask of a guy who at the same time, in his job (acting), delivered so well, so many enjoyable, entertaining moments?

Thanks, God, for the loan James Garner.
