Texas Sen. Ted Cruz confirmed Thursday that he will be joining Glenn Beck and Mercury One at the border in McAllen, Texas, on Saturday to feed, clothe, and provide toys for illegal immigrant children.
Catherine Frazier, a spokeswoman for the senator, told TheBlaze in an email: Tens of thousands of children are being smuggled into the United States by dangerous drug cartels and transnational gangs it is heartless to allow that to continue.
But while we work to reverse the policies that have caused this tragedy, it is important we recognize the human element of this crisis, and Sen. Cruz is glad to join Glenn Beck and Mercury One in that effort to provide some relief from the suffering this administration is causing, Frazier continued.

So, what’s the problem? Are they taking tax dollars> If so, I have a problem with that. If they are using money people freely give, LET THEM.
With the proviso that they let the kids and the world know that these kids WILL BE SENT HOME.
I will admit that I have a problem if the second condition were not met.
Excellent suggestion/plan.
Please pass it on to Glenn Beck and Sen Cruz.... They have over $2M to work with.
Get the planes lined up - offer a check in/boarding bonus.
That's my guess too. My God, some of the people on this thread are unbelievable. You DO realize the Libs spend about half their day demonizing conservatives as mean and uncaring, don't you? The occasional charitable act by a conservative isn't going to hurt anything, and it may take some of the wind out of the Libs' sails for awhile.
Aside from the obvious trolls, those posters who seek nothing less than absolute, complete, toe-the-line doctrinaire conservatism every second of the day from the already-outnumbered people on our side have become incredibly tiresome. They're the kind of people who get people like Obama elected.
With great respect (and I’ve been absent for a while)...
1. Any provision of “freebies” to illegal immigrants will encourage more to come, period. And giving teddy bears to MS-13 members will only have them pulling out the stuffing and filling them with drugs.
2. If you want to donate to a worthy cause, how about starting with our veterans that are being denied medical care, and not only help those more worthy of donation, but draw some continued attention that that gross injustice.
3. If you really want to help the “children” plus stop the waves of them rushing here for free stuff, after you donate to our veterans then donate to these children’s home countries, to encourage them to stay there and make a better place, instead of coming here for a lifelong pursuit of free stuff.
4. Seal the border, and only let the ones who excel in their home environments come here legally, verses leaving it wide open for those that come here illegally out of desperation because they know we’ll borrow more money we don’t have to give to them.
Bottom line, we already have 30+ million illegal immigrants here already, and these coming now are only making an already terrible problem (a bankrupt country who borrows money to pay for those who aren’t even legal citizens) worse.
This thread is a one man show-you.I tell you what he said and you say “So,what’s the problem”:)God bless,Good Bye.
I don’t trust or like Beck, but I think Cruz is nobody’s fool.
Ditto. I’ve supported my Senator Cruz since the day he announced running against Dewberry. I’ve campaigned and fundraised for him. I’ve met him personally and respect him.
I just don’t think pairing up with GB to offer Welcome Wagon packages to illegal invaders is the best way to rectify this terrible situation. Our country is under assault. From outside and within.
.
I just think hooking up with Beck will be bad for his tough on illegals platform. I see no reason for it to affect his ambitions so long as he doesn’t cave like Beck did because they’re”innocent children”,
I never said Cruz is dead to me. Maybe other FReepers will but you’re preaching to the choir here. None of my posts give any impression of what you are saying.
I completely agree. It signals a surrender on the issue itself.
We shall see what he says and does tomorrow. I haven't seen what he thinks on the issue of illegals, nothing of what he states - do you have any quotes?
I would like to know how DACA is being funded. A federal program, illegally put into action should be easy to strip of funding like, last year.
If the admit “65%” then you know it is actually higher, quite possibly much higher. They know Americans would be even more upset if they knew the figure was closer to 90%. [Just as we all shake our heads when they trot out the hackneyed figure of “12 million undocumented immigrants in America”.]
And they do admit that their 65% figure doesn’t take into account the illegals (adults?) who have been given court dates and have promised—on their honor as border jumpers—to appear.
I expect the quite small per centage are the homesick being returned because they have asked to go back home.
“Political asylum”: wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
This is amnesty by default, a de facto executive order, and as long as this policy remains in effect, we can expect the numbers to increase in an exponential manner.
3 million amnestied in ‘86, “12 million” today? How many in 20 years? How about in 3 months?
If we cannot control our own borders, we lose an essential attribute of national sovereignty. It isn’t that we cannot. We refuse. This is national suicide.
Whatever Cruz’s motive is - I don’t think its to support amnesty. Perhaps to get a better look at what’s really going on? He won’t be afraid to take to the airwaves and tell the truth either. My point of view is to just wait and see what happens before jumping to conclusions. Now, Beck, on the other hand, is a different thing. He’s a media whore, IMO. I could be wrong, but he didn’t need to jump into the fray on this one - he saw an opportunity to promote himself and his “Christian” works. Possibly, to recruit for the Mormon Church?
I’m not blaming him at all. But, if I were him I wouldn’t be seen feeding these kids and giving them soccer balls with Glenn Beck.
All this is inexplicable - politically - I know we and Cruz and Beck believe in Surrender the Children Unto Me.
I’m just as outraged as everybody else that zero is openly inviting this tsunami.
I trust Cruz’s spiritual and political instincts... they come from WWJD.
I’m going to have to sleep on this.
I'd suggest someone who is actually a Natural Born Citizen.
I think Dennis Michael Lynch is running. If he does run he has my vote!! He is the only one out there speaking for Americans. You can follow him at DMLdaily.com.
I see the "find any reason to misinterpret to trash out best hopes" folks are airing their asses out again.
Agree!.....I was disappointed and shocked to know he’s doing this....
A very wrong move.
I don’t honestly know what to think now.
I’m tired of being disappointed by ‘perspective leaders.
