It’ll be easy to know if the Israelis are winning, since that’s when Hamas will start screaming for a ceasefire.
If events go as they have in the previous two Israeli-Hamas conflicts over the past five years, that will be Benjamin Netanyahu’s cue to cave in, and, once again, nothing will be resolved, and Israel will be as vulnerable as ever.
The only thing that might change things this time is if the right-wing members of Netanyahu’s government threaten to quit and bring down his coalition unless he stays the course.
