Do you like garlic & onions? In22yrs on my Famil Farm, I’ve never been bitten, stung, nipped by anything. My employees and family all have been.

Here’s my secret:

Garlic: I buy pre-peeled cloves in a 1.5gal jar from local supermarket, divide them up into Ball Jars, fill with EVOO, and nuke (wo/lids) at room temp for 1-3mins, let cool and re-nuke. After several evenings of that routine, the cloves begin to turn purple, as the bitter oil is transferred out into the EVOO, which is great for cooking and sauteeing.

After jars cool, transfer to Glad Storage containers, add new EVOO to cover well, press saran wrap down on top of oil so it isn’t dried-out by air, store in fridge until next nuke sessison, bring oil to room temp, and continue nuking 1-2mins until all cloves are purple. THEY ARE SO SWEET AND CRUNCHY, YOU CAN’T STOP EATING THEM, LIKE M&Ms. You can use them in anything, since the bitter oils are gone and in the EVOO for cooking.

You’ll stink like month-old roadkill for the next few days, but I GUARRANTEE YOU, NO INSECTS WILL COME NEAR YOU!

Gradually add-in onions w/ garlic to pastas, chili, meatloaf, prime rib etc, and reduce the number of cloves until it’s not offensive anymore.

My theory: if someone smells like toothpaste and mouthwash, I don’t really want to knoiw them. However, if the smell like garlic, onions, peppers etc, we’re gonna be real good friends! LOL.

Here’s one batch in a Glad Storage Container, w/ saran wrap press down to oust air, and lid closed over top.
