I’ve heard the term used, ‘honey ants’, but I don’t know what exact subfamily they belong to. They are fascinating and actually mimicked by other insects, in very complex relationships.

I heard carpenter ants kill trees so I had the pest people take em out. Wanted to make sure they weren’t ants saving the tree.

Don’t know much about ants beyond the continuing battle with the fire ants we have here. The past couple of days they have been coming into the house and crawling about on my bed. Everything washed and raid applied, but I am a bit jumpy about feeling things crawl on my skin. There are some strays about.
