I agree. I don’t see how this is going to end up good for McDaniel regardless of outcome, and in fact, he’s slitting his throat for any future job in politics.
I’ve taken a lot of heat here by stating that he should have bitten his upper lip...swallowed hard and accepted defeat. By doing that he would show clearly to everyone that he’s the better man...and fight another day. Instead, he comes across as a sore loser.
Forget it. The other side won this time. Your chance will come again, but drop this nonesense about expecting to have a fair day in court in the State of MS.
Over and over I have seen on Freerepublic the demand that politicians on our side fight rather than surrender close elections.
The “progressives” never let a close election go uncontested, it seems, and it never seems to hurt them.
This is all about “image”, claim those who want McDaniel not to fight.
Guess what. The other side controls to image machine, if we let them. We will always lose these close elections if we let the other side intimidate us by calling names. We are reaching a tipping point where the old media no longer has the resources to control the flow of information, and who is called what.
I say fight. If we win, it is a great victory. If we lose, we are not worse off than we were before. I do not see the downside that the naysayers here seem to.
