"Unlike whoever wrote this article, I actually listen."

The Breitbart piece isn't accurate? How so?

"He has repeatedly said that these people should be sent home ASAP — but that they need to be cared for while they’re here. He hasn’t said they should stay, though he has said that he understands why they come — as I do."

Their motives are irrelevant. They're illegal invaders. I understand Beck says they should go back, but his version of "caring" for them goes overboard, when they could be turned right around after being given food and water.

"That’s not the same as saying people with infectious diseases should be allowed into the country."

According to the article, Beck said they should be able to come here even with their contagions.

" But they’re coming, due to policy choices we’ve made."

And more are on the way, thanks to Beck's encouragement.

" What would you do? Let them die?"

Oh, of course. Anyone who doesn't subscribe to Beck's grandstanding is heartless and wants to see them all dead. /S I'll say it again. Water and a hot meal, and a plane back. Why do you expect more?

"That is not “changing the subject” at all."

"And yes, he said the United States should be more accessible to those fleeing poverty and violence. Those are our ideals, our principles."

Maybe they're yours and his, but we have enough freeloaders here already. The United States cannot take responsibility for the world's victims. If it were up to me, I'd close down immigration altogether for a while.

" He said we should change the visa system so that those skilled people who want to come and contribute to our society can do so more easily. The fact is that the current system is complex enough to be an incentive to come illegally. After we fix the border, let’s fix that."

No, thanks. Let those skilled jobs go to Americans. Making it easier for immigrants is at the bottom of my list right now. I'm more concerned about, say, our own veterans who can't even get the health care they need.

"But again, that does not equate to inviting people with infectious diseases to come in."

Again, according the article, that is Beck's view.

" He’s inviting those who want to be part of the American dream to find a path to join us — legally. The claim that is being made about Beck is false, and the people making it mostly know it’s false."

I seriously doubt that.

If Beck is so eager to bring more people into the country, let him fix up his big home---isn't it a ranch?---and he can take in a whole mess of them. Give them jobs at Mercury One, too. Then he can put a sock in it and stop berating the rest of us for what he thinks we should do.

That isn't his position, and it's not what the quote they use actually says.

If you think he's encouraging them to come, you've completely misunderstood him.

[T]hey could be turned right around after being given food and water.

Not under current law. I have heard Glenn call for changing that law, but as long as the law is what it is, we're stuck with these people for at least a little while.
