Republicans say the National Guard could free up border patrol agents to do their job. The White House says the problem is not apprehensions because child migrants actually want to be caught. WASHINGTON Lawmakers in Texas, including Gov. Rick Perry (R), as well as Republicans in Congress are urging President Obama to send Americas prime military reserve to the southern border to help handle the child-migrant surge. The president has been resisting, but this week, he opened the door a crack. No action from the commander in chief yet, but Mr. Obama did tell Governor Perry during his recent visit to Texas that he would be happy to consider deploying the guard, if thats what it takes to get the Texas delegation in Congress to sign off on his $3.7 billion request in emergency spending on the border crisis. On Friday, House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers (R) not a Texan but a powerful Kentuckian when it comes to spending said the president's plan is too big and the House won't approve it. He did say, however, that his committee is now considering pieces of it.

First you need to look at as border enforcement, interior enforcement, and workplace enforcement.
Then you can break it out as under Clinton, under Bush, and under Obama.
Then break it out as enforcement only or immigration reform plus enforcement.
Then break it out as the US House versus the Senate. The Senate has the prerogative of immigration but the House has the prerogative of law enforcement and the prerogative of revenue
Break it out as Mexican border states, Canadian border states, Coastal States, other states.
Illegal ag workers(H2A) and illegal non ag workers(H2B)
States versus the Feds.
It a very complicated issue with many moving parts
Obama will send them there to change diapers.
Does anyone know why Perry can’t call up the Guard in Texas?
Question. What is the guard, state or national, going to do on the border? I’m not sure
what needs to be done at this point outside of immediately start construction on a border
barrier along the 1200+ miles of the US border in Texas.
Once the people reach the middle of the Rio Grande they are in the US, state of Texas. At
that point what do you do to turn them around and make them cross back into Mexico? If the
gov’t would have proceeded a few years back with the border barriers we would have much less
area to defend. Just some thoughts.
PS. thanks for posting and paragraphs would help make your post more readable. Take care.
No. If he sends in the National Guard they will be there only to facilitate the invasion and to eventually get shot at and killed without being allowed to fire back. The National Guard is part of the Formal Military and as such the Left, and that is the kenyan, do not trust them anyway. They might just respond to an armed attack by shooting back.
No. The border patrol guy was there to make sure the NG didn't do anything rational if under attack.
Perry is a fool. What the feds pay for the feds will control, at least at crucial times. Texas and Perry need to recognize that they are on their own against the invasion and against the Federal Government.
you asked
‘Does anyone know why Perry cant call up the Guard in Texas?”
What exactly would you have a Texas caleld up militia do?
they do not have authority over Feds and if feds are taking illegals in and letting the go how coul a state militia stop tem?
so what would you have them do?
It’s the Texas state National Guard and it looks like they are going to be deployed.
