Catholic Charities now gets 40% of their $ from gubmint grants.

Charity is a good thing - but not when they are using other people's money! A Catholic refuse center in Nashville (I don't know the exact name, could be what you said) dumps their charity cases on Tennessee's Medicaid system as soon as they can. Probably much more, food stamps, housing subsidies, who knows? Forcing tax payers to pay for a 'charity' so they can look good is NOT biblical in the least.

“He’s as emotional as a woman, always has been.”

Hey, watch that ;)

I can have emotions, but I can also be logical.

I think Beck has mental issues.

Excellent post. I’m like you, I’ve come across a few people who have the “high road” approach as well BUT as you point out, it’s the bigger picture.

refuse was supposed to be refuge.

Freudian slip, most likely.

Agreed. First time I heard him was years ago on a Tampa radio station while driving back over to the east coast. First impression: “Who’s the gay Republican talk show guy?”. Throw in a heavy dose of apocalyptic bullcrap, self-absorbed messianic narcissism, antinomian religiosity...and you pretty much have it. Chicken Little meets Richard Simmons and they go off to party with Hal Lindsey.

To help 300,000 illegals with 2,700,000,000 could write a check to each for 9000. They could live like kings back home with that.

LOL. Good summary. He was having these meltdowns years ago (when I quit watching) where he would announce something mind-blowing would happen. For weeks. Then when it did, it was next to nothing. He did this over and over. You got the narcissism right!

Let Beck be Beck. Glenn is an emotive empathetic libertarian, and this is his latest catharsis. He is not a conservative.

I don’t recall Beck’s position on Elian Gonzalez. But I would imagine his compassion-detector would want him returned to the “father.”

If Elian’s boat had only sailed to Guatemala he’d be a free man today.

If anyone wants to adopt one of these children that is their personal business so long as the children have a clean bill of health.

will be the most right thing he has ever done.

He could out do himself on this one by just going away........I used to like the guy but he's become nothing more than a self righteous nutjob.....

Judy: Your proposal to:

“Open up your hearts.

Feed them, shower them, and then open up the bus doors and take them back to where they belong.”

Is almost exactly what Glenn is proposing. Too bad most of the posters here seem to be the conservative versions of what I dislike most about progressives. They resort to name calling without reading or listening to what they are criticizing. There is always things someone does that you don’t like and Glenn has his faults. I initially disagreed with him on this until I heard him out and now find that he is offering a reasonable solution. It may not be the perfect solution but it is not crazy. Basically:

- have compassion on the children.
- in the short term treat them with dignity
- send them back home with a powerful story of the compassionate America (long term win-win)

- Shut down the border immediately
- Enforce Our laws
- Enforce Our laws
- Enforce our laws

He is asking the public sector, not the government to help the children. He doesn’t want one more dime from the government to be apportioned. He is using his charity organization www.mercuryone.org to help the children. This is one of the few I know where every penny given to a specific cause gets to the recipients.

So if these are the ideas of a nut case then I guess I’m a nut case too, cause they seem reasonable to me.

"Hey, watch that ;)

Come on, now. Admitting women are largely more emotional than men doesn't demean us; it's just the way it is.

As conservative women, however, we don't allow ourselves to be ruled by our emotions (at least, in my case, for most of the month). ;)

"I think Beck has mental issues"

No argument there at ALL.

Beck is a boob. He got cut off long ago and I tried to listen to him again. Cut off for good and forever now. The guy is fruitloops and has accomplished nothing that I can see... none of the mouths have, we don’t accomplish a thing here either.

We vent our rage that should be festering to explosion.

“He used to have quite a cult following on this forum, especially among the paranoid Soros obsessives.”

I used to like him quite a bit, myself. I wonder what happened to him for him to veer so far off course.

I suggested to a liberal relative that we build a camp across the border in Mexico and help them in THAT location.

No Response.

No, because your relative wouldn’t be able to feel all self-congratulatory and tolerant if we did that.

You know, I was thinking about Glenn when a friend just asked WHY Obama would be letting in all these aliens that will cost us tons of money. When we are already broke.

I told her about the Cloward-Piven strategy, etc.

And realized ALL that came from Glenn. Way back when. HE was the first to use the word ‘progressive’. The first to make the Cloward-Piven connection. The first to come up with Obama’s socialist upbringing and connections.

So, it is really sad to see him going off the deep end. Which it seems he has been doing for a while.

Now, all the other talk show hosts use those words and ideas as if they were their own.

That’s it. We have and take the choice to determine our actions. Unlike libs. And some crybaby politicians.

“I tune in Beck’s ludicrous morning radio show every once in a while to see what he’s up to. The other morning he was in the midst of a rambling, lengthy, nutty Sunday-morning-type sermon on something or other. I didn’t hang around long enough to find out.
The post-TV Glenn is so far off his rocker now that he belongs in the pulpit of some whacked-out cult “religion”.

The butterfly nets cannot be far behind for him and his followers.”

I agree with that Leni except that he went nutty on FOX. I think they realized that and decided that they should part ways.

On his previous show on CNN he sounded sane.
