I miss GW Bush. Not our best president but compared to the current one, he’s Ronald Reagan times 10. A very decent man who actually cared for our country.

Don’t miss him one bit.
Were it not for him this jerk would be a little more harmless.

Me too. I will post what I said on another thread. I posted a picture of President and First Lady Laura on Facebook. I got this comment from someone I went to school with, “Keep your politics to yourself.”. I thought it was an awesome picture of a couple in love. Guess she was threatened by the picture.. In today’s world we need all the happy news we can get.

“I miss GW Bush. Not our best president but compared to the current one, he’s Ronald Reagan times 10. A very decent man who actually cared for our country.”

I held my nose as I voted for him twice, but he bears plenty of responsibility for the issues along the southern border. The invasion of Iraq under false pretenses doesn;t help; if he were the head of a smaller Third World country he’d be indicted by the Hague for that.

He was far from a perfect president. But he was a gracious man, with good manners, who did not sic the IRS on his political enemies like a paranoid chihuahua. I still am not sure what he could have done better in the aftermath of 9/11. Sigh...

When I saw that pic of GWB at Ground zero with that megaphone a tear formed.
George wasn’t the best president. But after 9-11, he raised a country morale.
Happy Birthday Mr President....

George W. Bush is a class act. We were truly blessed by God to have him as our President for eight difficult years.

How to Thank a Soldier

1. Look them in the eye and give them a firm handshake.

No one appreciates a firm handshake more than a soldier.

2. If they prefer not to shake hands . . .

. . . then a chest bump will do.

Just make sure you do your duckface afterward so they can laugh at you.

3. Admire their medals. They were hard-earned.

4. Always treat their families with great respect.

They have been through more than you could imagine.

5. Laugh with them!

6. Sometimes it’s important that you treat a soldier the way you would treat anyone else.

7. If you know a soldier, call them on the 4th of July.

It will make their day!

8. Or you can Skype them.

9. Each soldier has an amazing story.

10. Listen.

Listening is often the best gift you can give someone.

11. Give them a hug!

Soldiers love getting hugged because most of them are big softies deep down.

12. Do a sport with them.

Soldiers love being active.

13. Make sure you are respectful.

14. Cook them a big-ass dinner if you can. Lots of meat.

15. But if you only have a minute, look them square in the eye . . .

And say, “Thank you.”

We promise you they will appreciate it.

Happy 4th of July!

Agreed. I'm old enough to be able to remember 11 Presidents, of which three were good: Eisenhower, Reagan, and George W. Bush. That's not to deny that each had some shortcomings.

After their losses in 1984 and 1988, the Democratic Party seems to have decided they would never again nominate for President someone who was a decent human being. At least the last 6 elections would suggest that.

Perfect illustration of the difference between GWB and Obama is how they reacted to the Fort Hood shooting. Bush went on his own, quietly, with no publicity, and visited the soldiers who had been wounded in the attack who were in the hospital. Obama went there later for a photo-op and did not visit those who were wounded.

He cared for the country? Could have fooled me. He ran huge deficits (no where near today of course) and made a mess of the wars.

I blame him for our illegal problem with his GOPe thinking.

Not the worse but not the best president since 1900.
