It's interesting to see the increasing division. There is a separation into opposing viewpoints, a polarization, a definitive choosing of sides that I've never seen before in America. And both sides are moving further apart.

Obama seems almost to be goading the patriot movement with the latest outrage of the Children's Crusade. Following on all the other outrages, the blatant lies and cover-ups, he's gotten away with it all, and now he's trash talking.

One senses that in the long hot summer of our discontent that only a spark is needed to set the whole nation ablaze.

CWII PING!

The CWII Ping List is short for Civil War II. It is NOT a list of people advocating another Civil War in America. It is a list of people who are interested in the parallels between the Civil War (or War Between the States, if you prefer) and our current situation, or more generally are noting the references to a 'coming Civil War' that are made in the press.

FR rules do not permit advocating for the overthrow of the Republic, and I am not aware of anyone doing so on the list. Still many do see that as the political climate worsens we may be heading in a direction that makes such a conflict all but inevitable, particularly if other avenues for resolving our differences are taken away. Such as widespread vote fraud by leftists making elections meaningless, or a small cadre of judges over-ruling all attempts to end destructive policies over the clear will of the people.

I have a profound thought about all of this and it seems like "the powers that be" are pushing for a fight as many have pointed out. From what I have seen in the last 20 years from Ruby Ridge, Waco, Elian Gonzales and so on that is the case although it seems like since the current administration took office, it has accelerated. I admire our side for holding back but the downside is that they are taking ground from us as well as killing our country bit by bit. I am a Glenn Beck listener (I admire him) and he does preach peace and it is the right thing I suppose but there is another side of me that wonders if he is using wishful thinking at best and naive at worst. The sides are so far apart there seems to be no reconcilliation. They keep pushing to the point where it is their way or the highway. Something will happen unless they turn it off or somebody turns it off. Sometimes I wonder if we need someone like a General Pinochet or James Mattoon Scott.

Think of it this way, an animal, pushed into a corner and is constantly provoked will fight back. It is in the instinct to survive. Even little kittens and day old baby chicks will fight if cornered and provoked.

It's like watching a movie where you see two trains on the same track in a collision course and there is no stopping it beyond a miracle. As one guy I know puts it, there will be only one thing to do, the Russian solution, get ready to fight and win, we are fast running out of choices except or this one since all others are not working or look poor. Sad to say, a lot of people will get hurt and worse, maybe the whole world will go up in flames too.

It hurt me to think this, I just want to live my life as we all want to. Still, barring a miracle, I see bad times like this coming. I don't want this to happen but we are being herded this way.
