I always light up a couple old tires on Earth Day...just because.
I remember seeing guys walk into an auto parts store and buy a quart of automatic transmission fluid, take it out to their car and pour it down the carburetor (with the engine running of course). The result was a thick stinky cloud of white.
I asked one once and he told me that it was to unstick hydraulic lifters.
I never tried it on anything that I cared about.
