The Huffington Post has a pop-up feature entitled "Politicians' Science Gaffes" included on a related article about how "GOP Lawmaker Says Climate Change Is 'The Greatest Deception In The History Of Mankind'." Of course, the feature only includes Republican politicians (10 in total) who have said purportedly dumb things about science.
And, according to the Huffington Post, the first listed science gaffe by a politician is the following statement by Ronald Reagan:

‘Cars principally emit carbon compounds, such as carbon monoxide, and nitrous oxides,’ said Jacobson. ‘Sulfur dioxide is not a problem with auto emissions.’”
In that, you are not alone.
Best examples are laws and bureaucracies based on fiction. All that's needed is time for the fiction to create laws and more government. After that, the Lying Left couldn't care less, the public may or may not care, and we've got more government that won't easily disappear based on more lies.
No Drama Obama understands this better than most.
Gee,
I would have thought that “reporters” at HuffPo would know that cars don’t burn coal.
Hey, HuffPo is a legit news agency.
Oh look, I made a funny.

The inclusion of carbon dioxide as a “pollutant” was made after advanced engineering in motor vehicles virtually eliminated carbon monoxide as an exhaust pipe effluent gas. The introduction of catalytic convertors and exhaust gas recycling systems (for NOX emissions) reduced the level of carbon monoxide and various nitrogen oxides to nearly undetectable levels.
When these two constituents were reduced, the result was a greater amount of carbon dioxide produced. Because “carbon dioxide” sounds a lot like “carbon monoxide”, the two gases were conflated to mean the same thing, but their chemical characteristics are much different.
The propagandists use this to their great advantage when speaking to low-information individuals in general, and those low-information individuals who also vote in particular.
Dumbing-down the educational system works to restore the hierarchical type of organization of society, every time it is applied.
The Huffington Post lying about gaffes to cover the truth. I had a long time friend over for the 4th. We have avoided politics for years. I know he leans left but not into socialist territory. His mother’s side comes from Alaska and he often goes up to hunting camp etc. He mentioned that Wasilla wasn’t a remote city and was basically a nice suburb close to Anchorage. He also said you couldn’t see Russia from there, so I took him to task on the Tina Fey bit. He knew the truth but was choosing to propagate the lie.
The inclusion of carbon dioxide as a pollutant was made by SCOTUS.
Statistically ‘eco-friendly’ electric cars DO burn coal... and nuclear and hydo. They hardly burn any ‘green’ sourced electricity as there hardly is any. And their mileage is poor because all the losses transmitting their ‘coal’ over wires from plant to car.
Soooo,
You’re telling me there REALLY are no eco-friendly cars.
What if I get a really, really long extension cord and...?
My geologist friend tells me his electric vehicle runs on fuel from the solar panels on his house. Kinda shut me up since I don’t really know how that works.
Ask him why he doesn’t just put the solar panels
on the roof of the car and then he could drive forever.
That guy must have a LOT of solar panels...
That is because we remove much of the sulfur in oil/gasoline.
And the Tier 3 fuel with even lower sulfur levels will be used beginning in 2017. CA, Japan, Korea, Europe and other nations already use the Tier 3 lower sulfur fuel.
“Kinda shut me up since I dont really know how that works.”
It works with huge tax subsidies form all of us. You are paying for his car. Did he thank you?
Having said that; I’m all for solar. A great way to generate electricity if it could be done without tax subsidies.
Of course. We all know that Algore's claim that the temperature of the center of the earth is 'several million degrees' is 'settled science'.
Yeesh...
wow, that is really, really hot! //sarc
