Being a wannabe antiChrist does not make one so. I’m sure that the number of mahdi fanatic moslems who wish to be the 12th imam are legion, and many will lay any claim that they can to be as such. I’ve always seen the Last Days, and the mysteries of what has been foretold, as similar to the story of the Road to Emmaus in Luke 24:13-35.
Two people who knew Jesus, who had heard Him preach, and who mourned the loss of Him, did not properly understand all that had been said in the Old Testament. Jesus had to lead them through the scripture to explain, point by point, exactly how He had fulfilled the words of the prophets. Only then did the men understand. And even then they did not realize that their companion on the road was the risen Lord.
When the Beast arises, people will see how scripture is fulfilled. Until that hour, it’s just a bunch of people mumbling about the Whore of Babylon, and Rome, and all the rest. I’m pretty sure our interpretations of the words are flawed.
