I beg to differ. Israel is EXACTLY a theocracy, struggling to reconcile that with the demands of their political existence as a democracy.
In much the same way as we Christians struggle to “be in the world, but not of the world”.

Israel is not a theocracy, as it has leaders who are ARAB Muslims, non-religious Jews and ordinary secular Jews (who may have personal faith too) along with a SMALL group of some religious people.
