Ahhh.. so THAT'S why Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Ceausescu, Honecker et al directed the murder of all those hundreds of millions of innocent people. Because they were getting in touch with their inner Godliness.

I'm someone who frequently defends the Pope out of loyalty but the whole communists = 'closet Christians' has me stymied. I agree with the other poster that said being on record for peace is the correct thing but still...

He did say that violence begets violence (which is true) AND called for prayers, but I think that he would have been better served to call for the world to pray that the ISIS militants receive peace in their hearts. I'd prefer he called for prayers for conversion.

Jesuits are a bit of a challenging group overall.
