Metric it a lot easier then the American system because it goes by ten, hundred and thousand, which is much easier to remember.
Having your choice of hospital assigned to you by the government makes that a lot easier to remember, too.
Not being allowed to own a private car makes remembering the train schedules easier, I'm sure.
;)
2 cups = 1 pint 2 pints = 1 quart 4 quarts = 1 gallon
Pretty easy to remember.
Doubling/halving is much easier to do "by eye" than dividing/multiplying by ten
The systems are suited to different uses
You’re humor-impaired, Obviously
Yes, and a meter is a little more than a yard. Inches, feet, and yards are far more useful for everyday needs. That’s how they came to be. The metric system is far more useful for precision, due to it’s Base 10 organization.
Also being a scientist, I use metric all day. But metric is not more precise nor is it more accurate.
AND the concept that it is not more convenient because it works on a decimal system is false. It is very rare that one switches from mm to cm or anything of that nature. No basic constant , such as the gravitational constant, is a 10 or such; so you are never multiplying by ten. The metric system is based on just as arbitary of standards as the british system.
You may be interested in knowing that it was Nepolean the commisioned the developement of the metric system. Who needs something Nepolean commisioned? I refuse to call the British system the imperial system. Only a socialist would call it imperial system.
There is nothing wrong with the british system. You might also be interested in knowing that major companies still use the british system such as Boeing and Sikorsky.

Only being able to remember the number 10 is for feeble minded people. What made this country great were things like not being feeble minded. Europe sucks and they use the metric system.
...we really couldn't care less about being able to covert between units using the number 10. In fact, using the metric system screws up many equations with unnecessary conversions to and from those politically driven and arbitrary measurements.
There are 36 inches in a yard but I'll be damned if I can remember how many centimeters there are in that same yard........
