Iraq's Prime Minister Nouri Maliki has told the BBC that he hopes jets from Russia and Belarus will turn the tide against rebels in the coming days.
"God willing within one week this force will be effective and will destroy the terrorists' dens," he said.
He said that the process of buying US jets had been "long-winded" and that the militants' advance could have been avoided if air cover had been in place.
Isis and its Sunni Muslim allies seized large parts of Iraq this month.
Mr Maliki was speaking to the BBC's Arabic service in his first interview for an international broadcaster since Isis - the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant - began its major offensive.
"I'll be frank and say that we were deluded when we signed the contract [with the US]," Mr Maliki said.
"We should have sought to buy other jet fighters like British, French and Russian to secure the air cover for our forces; if we had air cover we would have averted what had happened," he went on.
He said Iraq was acquiring second-hand jet fighters from Russia and Belarus "that should arrive in Iraq in two or three days".

Hey what you said just reminded me....remember back during BHO’s first term there was a story circulating where someone swore they were at a party in Russia decades ago and was told they were grooming someone to become president of the United States when he’s older? I remember the same story. It was a businessman visiting Russia (in the 1990s?), and the hostess of the party was into her vodka when she confessed that Russia was grooming Barak to be POTUS. Luciferians have also had a hand in this.

As I said before Maliki is probably right, if they had proper air power the terrorist wouldn’t be able to build such an army that threatens to overpower Iraq’s own.
Okay, if Putin is last, where do you rank the USA (knowing that Obama abandoned Iraq too early - the situation today is what it is). Should we go back in?
I have already months ago checked and verified that Jarrett was born in Iran to father and mother who were there on some kind of aid/mission program. Iran was buffer/protector for Saudi Arabia against Saddam Hussein who was a Sunni. The Sunni Shiite animosity goes back many years when Mohammed was establishing the Muslim caliphate to oppose the Christian legacy of Jesus Christ. There was some kind of disagreement/hate between two of Mohammed’s extended family and this resulted in the Shiite and Sunni factions. The history shows why the USA is forever mired in the Muslim debaucher as to a religious scenario but the USA was not founded to be a part of the political Islam society. What has been going on needs to be cut off and go back to the days of Jefferson and the Tripoli history.
