I quit them some time back. I now give only directly to the candidate. For a while I was passive aggressive by sending back the GOP’s postage paid reply envelopes stuffed to the gill with scrap paper. I would have taped it to a brick if I thought the post office would deliver it.

That's the only thing we can do. Washington warned us about political parties; he was a man ahead of his time.

Besides, it only makes sense. We think government works best at a local level, with politicians who are members of the community and are responsive to that community. We don't like far-off lords setting policy for us in government, why should we support a far-off national party that doesn't know or care what we think?
