This is important: Look how freely and recklessly Lerner suggests an audit. An audit should be considered only after clear evidence exists of cheating on taxes or hiding income, or of a strong possibility that those have been happening. In any case, an audit should be based on Grassley’s BEHAVIOR, not on an offer made to him by by some organization. Lerner didn’t even wait for Grassley to respond. She wanted to audit him right away - because he was a Republican.
Correct. Which probably means there are a number of people in the IRS who may be annoyed by her, and have plenty of other stories to tell, and plenty of emails. Congressman Issa has subpoenaed every email and letter to or from Lerner going back to her work in other agencies from 1989 onward.
