Thanks for clarifying that it was your interpretation, not God’s. That’s the only point I had left to make.
Nowhere in any of that scripture does it say One of the functions of government that you see is endorsed by God in the Bible, is to go after criminals and make them fearful of continuing their crimes..
So your interpretation of the scripture is that these SWAT Raids, which are absolutely designed to instill fear - are fully justified by God, so they are moral in your eyes, and any collateral damage, is quite acceptable.
Here’s a very good rundown of the damage to our society and liberty that’s acceptable to you - all in the name of making “them fearful of continuing their crimes.
And I find this one particularly appalling.
All seemingly OK with you, based on what you believe the Bible says. Sorry, I just can’t fathom...
It says it pretty clearly here ...
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.
4 For he is Gods minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is Gods minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.
(Romans 13:3-4)
The elements are there ... the governing authority, the criminal (who engages in evil), be fearful because the authority doesn’t wield the sword in vain, and there no crime for good works (no reason to be fearful).
I can’t see any difference between what I said and what the Word of God said there, except for choice of words and grammar and syntax. It’s saying exactly that ... just in my own words.
