People knew that the Messiah, the promised one, was coming from the time of Adam and Eve, but it was “that generation” at the time of Jesus, which was held accountable for the time of their visitation.
Likewise, we’ve known for over a thousand years that the Messiah can return quickly, but it’s this generation who will be held accountable for recognizing the signs of the time (of his second visitation).
Why is it this generation, and not the last generation, or the one before that, or the one before that ...?
