Data from the UN Office on Drugs and Crime shows the most up-to-date available homicide rates per 100,000 people for the most populous cities of 137 countries. The Americas overtook Africa as the region with the highest murder rate in 2012 with eight of the worlds 10 deadliest cities found there
10: Kingston, Jamaica. (Murder rate: 50.3 per 100,000 people in 2011)
The UNODC numbers capture intentional homicide, defined as 'unlawful death purposefully inflicted on a person by another person'. A total of 328 people were murdered in Kingston in 2011 significantly down on previous years. Photograph: David Levene for the Guardian

Even the worst American city doesn’t make the list.
Sometimes we don’t know our blessings.
Anyone notice a pattern?
No, I have been trained to not notice such things.
We are all equal.

“Even the worst American city doesnt make the list.”

Be sure, Obumbo, with his importation of Central American thugs, is working hard to correct that.
It is an onslaught from hell, using politicians of both parties, the Democrats more thus far, but if Republicans are lured into fratricide then the devil will have gotten his cherry on top.
“Why should I travel? I’m already here!”
And yes, counting my blessings.
Yeah! The majority of those cities have the same problem we have - the murders are mainly committed by black men.
Many, but then pattern recognition is frowned upon in polite company this day and age.
I do like the #2 entry on the list for illustrating one pattern though:
Bush’s fault.
Surprised to see Panama City in there. Nice to see nothing from Colombia made the list.
Seriously.
They are all run by socialist regimes with strict gun control laws? What do I win?
Don’t you know it’s racist to notice things? (snicker)
Detroit had a murder rate of 54.6 which would put it at #8 on their list. The criteria is what includes or eliminates a specific city. Flint, MI had a murder rate of 63 per 100,000 but was eliminated due to not having more than 200,000 residents.
You may wish to go easy on your blessing counting. Although no American city breaks the top 10, we have cities which are truly competitive at that elite level.
I notice that city #10 on the list had a murder rate of about 50 per 100,000. Baltimore is certainly competitive at about 39 per 100,000. Detroit and New Orleans, even more so at over 40 per 100,000. And for New Orleans, that's actually a large DROP over the past few years, when it was sporting a murder rate of over 62 per 100,000 in 2008 and about 52 per 100,000 in 2012.
Sadly, we have a number of cities that, although not quite with the very top elite of the world's worst third world cities, are nonetheless, right up there.

After the list they mention 3 Euro cities that had 0 murders. I have visited 1 of them. Vaduz Liechtenstein. I am happy to report it is a pleasant place. At the time I visited in 1996 the border between Switzerland and Liechtenstein was just a marker with no checkpoint at all.
Let’s certainly let God know what we think of blessings /sarc
So are most of their murders knifings?
I'm unsure what you're trying to say with your last comment.
Sorry I'm slow.

We need to be thanking the Lord that even a bad situation is not worse... and then by all means asking the Lord to help with any remaining difficulties.
