If I lived there, I would have to blank that race. But still go out and vote because there are downticket races.

That's worse than disgusting.

What is this and where did you find it?

“Second Party” is a good name. Remember that old Avis slogan We’re Number Two—We Try Harder! That could work as a political slogan for a grassroots movement. And the tie in with the Second Amendment would have real meaning for a lot of voters.

I’d accept all that if we didn’t have Obamacare. No way McCain would sign it into law.

Over the loud and persistent screams of VP Palin, McCain most certainly WOULD have signed some form of the ACA into law!

Then in 2012, Hitlery would have been elected President and Palin would have been finished with national office.

I don't think you know the real John McCain, Arizona U.S. Senator.

"What’s all this talk about a 3rd Party. There needs to be a 2nd Party first."

That's right, we have one party now, there is a slight disagreement that separates them, the liberal wing of the socialist party the (DEMS) want full blown communist now as quickly as possible.

The right wing of the socialist party (REPUBS) want communism at a slower pace, taking time to make communism more palatable and less conspicuous, to the masses.

However this disagreement is quickly being resolved with the (REPUBS) willing to relent their slow go process.

You were going well. Why did you stop? What resolution do you now foresee?

Yes, some wise FReeper, I’ve forgotten who, first made the point long ago that we’re actually not talking about a “third” party, what Americans really seek is a SECOND part in fact because the Uniparty, of Democrat-Republican, is the FIRST part that goes by two different names, Republican and Democrat. I’d have never thought of it — but it is SO TRUE. FReepers are some of the smartest, savviest political minds ever, as I have learned!!!

We HAVE/HAD 3rd parties. How did they do?

For one thing, right now, no matter what words one uses to misrepresent the reality, we have ONE party that goes by two names, Republican and Democrat. For all intents and purposes. Yes, there are exceptions like Cruz and Palin and Lee, but the Romneys, Barbours, McConnels, McCains, Boehners, and Cochrans have been the rule for so long that the Cruzes, Palins, and Lees are handicapped at the start AND SO ARE WE.

For another thing, Perot's Third Party AIDED conservatism in the big picture and in the long term. Liberalism LOST when Perot's third party split the vote and made Clinton WEAK enough to be steamrolled by the Republican Revolution in his first term, and IMPEACHED the second.

As surely as water is wet and fire is hot, it is ALWAYS, GUARANTEED, a bad choice to vote for pro-government representatives. That natural law holds true whether the representative is a Republican or a Democrat.

IGNORING that natural law is guaranteed to result in disaster, and it HAS.

Technically, yes we're talking about a "third" party. But in reality, we are talking about a SECOND party. We will ONLY start to meet our goals when we start dealing with reality. And the reality is that at present, Republicans and Democrats represent ONE party philosophy.

Basically, almost all of your post is correct. But ONE of those two parties has to be commandeered by conservatives. And we ARE making advancements. And the old geezers in the Senate ARE getting older and more senile.

There are not as many conservative-types alone to forge a third party as there were in 1992 and 1996. And we know how satisfying that was. (I'm thinking of all the young illegals arriving every day who will be old enough to vote by 2016 or 2020. If they're HERE and they are 18, they WILL be allowed to vote.)

Got to keep on keeping on and not lose heart, as we all are tempted to do occasionally.

Also, other than the referees, there are only two sides in any game I know how to play.

Democrats should NOT be allowed to vote in Republican primaries and Republicans should not be allowed to vote in Democrat primaries, I have no idea why MS allows Dems to vote in Republican primaries it ruins the entire election, Dems vote for the candidate they think their guy can beat in November

Republicans in MS let dims vote in the primary because it allows them to run the most liberal ‘Republican’ possible in a very conservative state.

Previously there’s been the ‘you HAVE to vote for X, even if he’s more liberal than you’d like or else the dim will win!’.

Except that THIS time it’s not true. From the candidate’s own words.

I believe Hines County is majority black and 75 percent Democrat, they all voted for Cochran because of this flyer and robo call messages saying that the tea party hates Obama because he is black and you know what is truly disgusting, that flyer and robo call came from the GOP Establishment..when you have supposed Republicans lowering themselves to sleazy Dem tactics there is really nothing more to be said..at least Dems have said what they are, these sleazy Establishment progressives pretend to be Republican but turn around and beg Dems for votes because they knew no sane Republican would vote for Cochran

I got one of those robocalls. Most of Hinds county is in Bennie Thompson’s district (aka, bennie the commie).

It was sent by Mississippi Conservatives PAC. Which is headed by Henry Barbour. Nephew of Haley.

It also shares a physical mailing address with Bishop Ronnie Crudup:

Sad isn’t it, those kind of tactics always come from the left, now the likes of Haley Barbour is using it too..truly sick, and you know why, because they knew no true Republican would vote for Cochran so they had to go beg Dems with lies to vote for him

What are you going to do if the GOP nominates another Romney, if not Romney himself, as the presidential candidate for 2016?

More to the point, what do you suppose Americans will do?

Also, if those illegals remain and are allowed to vote, then we had better start understanding NOW that all of this talk right here, all these hopes whether they are pinned on commandeering the GOP or launching a successful second party, are total wastes of time because our "solutions" are cancelled by fraudulent votes in any case.

American conservatives need to anticipate these dynamics and move now if we want to pull this off peacefully. Conventional wisdom says that ONE of those two parties has to be commandeered by conservatives. Conventional wisdom is often wrong. What is ALWAYS wrong is electing leftists.

Happened long ago; not the other night. I live in SC; I know. But on your 1040, there still is a check-off donation for Republican Party and one for Democrat. Two parties are officially recognized by the established government. Conservatives HAVE to take one of them. Don't give up.

Once upon a time, you Finny knew I was never a Republican Party member. I am talking about a legit take-over of the Republican Party by the TEA movement adherents of all stripes. If there is not enough time, then there's not enough time. And it looks to me as if Romney is going to run again in '16 or '20. Still won't get my vote no matter who the Dems run.
