When can a conservative say the lines will have crossed?

The biggest supporters that I've seen of this unconstitutional attack against the rights of citizens seem to be those with a personal stake in its continuation. As long as their paycheck or lifestyle is being supported by the drug war, they'll continue to support it and attack those who oppose them viciously. The difference between the dealers and the state is negligible in the long run. I have less to fear from a mexican 'kingpin' than I do from some drug warrior who decides he wants my stuff.

I'm afraid you overestimate voters. The majority are still law & order absolutists who think it's 1971 and only hippies and Black Panthers criticize the brave men in blue who put their lives on the line ... blah, blah. Most Americans either never heard of a cop shooting a dog, or think it's cool. They WANT authority. The majority of FReepers were that way not too long ago. But there's too much info here for us to all just look away.

I once heard Levin make ONE quick reference to police militarization. But you can tell he and the other big hosts are on a tight leash.
