I suspect that there are THOUSANDS of Republicans that NEVER had a problem with crossover voting in an Open Primary, particularly when no effort was made to get the crossovers to come out. So why was Cantor THE FIRST to be lose his seat because of this?
I’d love to see someone ask that jackass that question.
(by the way, open primaries are IDIOTIC, but it did not affect this race, even at the margins)

That is their excuse. They blame dems for Santorum’s showing against Romney. That was crap too.

Yes, there was an analysis of that theory, and the analysis says that theory was bunk.

Actually, the “democrat” theory is laughingly ridiculous — Cantor got like 8000 less votes than in 2012.
So the argument is that Cantor couldn’t get his own voters to come out to vote, but somehow the democrats were able to talk over 15,000 democrats to vote in someone else’s primary for people they didn’t care about.

I hope McD prevails, but I am wary, knowing how MS people like incumbency and projects coming to the state.

Either way, the GOP shouldn’t let rats vote in their primaries.
What could possibly go wrong???
