Right, highly likely Lerner had new up-to-date hardware.
Personally, I've had a dozen hard drives or so going back to about 1991 and only 1` has crashed. Usually I get a new 'puter before hard drive failure.
$1.8B IT budget and they CHOSE to not spend $20-30M on archival?????
I have had comps since the Amiga days. In that time I lost 3. 2 of the same model back to back while installing Win7 on them. Bought them together and they fried immediately one after the other. Obviously a bad production batch.
The original crash that prompted the whole thing lost me a lot of music/hobby. Data was there, just too much grief to retrieve it.
Today my ‘hobby’ has a regular and an SSD for backup. A hobby. To emphasize, a HOBBY.
And the freaking IRS does not have a backup? “Liberals please....”
