It’s been sometime since I read “The Stand,” but I seem to remember one scenario when two really bad guys broke out of prison and were on the road somewhere in the Southwest, they encountered a broken down car and pulled over to see what they could steal. The driver of the broken down car staggered around the car. One of the bad guys, nicknamed “Poke,” shot the poor guy with his immense revolver and said “that dude’s been ‘Pokerized.’” Or words to that effect. IMHO, Stephen King peaked with “The Stand.”
Yeah, the guy Lloyd was running around with.. that’s the only instance I CAN recall of a weapon in the book.
Mother Abigail instructed the four to go West with nothing, no arms, just leave now. Even the spy gal that got to Flagg only packed a blade for the fight.
AH! Lloyd Henreid.
