Local opinion is...the man is the good, trustworthy, go-to-for-help type of unofficial “rural blue collar community leader” for long time locals, in a very small community, who desire competent direction in an emergency.

Hurricanes, imported criminals, dirty cops, corrupt feds trying to entrap local men...etc.

I don't state that as fact, just saying that's what I overheard somewhere.

We the people, have some issues with violent criminals, gangs, and/or illegals around here, in the largely lower middle class, rural and suburban areas.

Perhaps they’ll go around now rounding up all the local conservative leaders so that when the hammer falls, people won’t have good men to lead them.
