"If you know more about it and can give some specifics instead of casting aspersions it would be helpful." How about the state statutes from Texas, that seems like a good choice for a state with reasonable firearms laws doesn't it? Not like they'd just run around banning things willy-nilly would they? Relevant statute: Sec. 46.05. PROHIBITED WEAPONS. (a) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally or knowingly possesses, manufactures, transports, repairs, or sells: (1) an explosive weapon; (2) a machine gun; (3) a short-barrel firearm; (4) a firearm silencer; (5) knuckles; (6) armor-piercing ammunition; (7) a chemical dispensing device; (8) a zip gun; or... Seriously, insert whatever state you want, I have yet to see one that didn't outlaw possession of zip guns. As for your comments about manufacturing firearms, I'd advise that unless you actually know what sections of code govern the behavior you're describing, it's probably not a good idea to offer your advice or opinions regarding legality. Now, if you're curious there are quite a lot of resources out there that explain the legal intricacies of firearms manufacture, from private individuals making firearms for personal use all the way to commercial companies manufacturing for sale or export -- the legal details are just a search-engine away.
